Vibrational spectra of benzene derivatives—III. Anisole, ethylbenzene, phenetole methyl phenyl sulphide and ethyl phenyl sulphide

Abstract

The infra-red and Raman spectra of anisole and phenetole have been recorded, and the frequencies are listed in Tables 1 and 3. Vibrational assignments are given in Table 5 for anisole, phenetole, methyl phenyl sulphide, and for the Raman shifts of ethyl phenyl sulphide; a revised complete assignment for ethylbenzene is also given.
