Abstract

The deexcitation rate constant of HF( ν = 1) + F → HF( ν = 0) + F is calculated over the temperature range 100–3000 K based on the collision model of FH + F in an operator calculus approach. At temperatures above 1500 K, the rate constant is very large with the magnitude of 10 13 cm 3/mol s. From 100 to 1500 K, the rate constant increases by two orders of magnitude.
