Abstract

The results of calculations within the quasiparticle-phonon nuclear model of the vibrational states in doubly even deformed nuclei in the rare-earth and actinide regions are presented. Due to new experimental data, there is no cardinal disagreement with the QPNM calculations. It is shown that the fragmentation of the M1 and E1 strengths in odd-mass nuclei is much stronger than in doubly even nuclei. Specific properties of vibrational states in the second minimum in 240Pu are discussed.
