Abstract
Abstract The vibrational distribution of the CS(X) fragment has been studied by the UV flash photolysis and kinetic spectroscopic technique. The CS fragment was generated by the flash photolysis of CS2 at ≈200 nm. The vibrational distribution is well represented by a sum of two modified Poisson distributions with different mean values. This distribution is explained by assuming the following two photodissociation processes of CS2; one is a predissociation through a triplet state and the other is a direct photodissociation.
