Abstract

The fluorescence and absorption spectra of anthracene-d10 in a fluorene matrix at 4.2°K have been measured and analyzed. In the ground electronic state seven ag and two b3g fundamentals have been assigned, while in the first-excited electronic state (1B1u) six ag and four b3g fundamentals were located. Other possible fundamentals are indicated. Earlier data concerning ag and b3g fundamentals of anthracene-h10 are critically reviewed and compared with the present results.
