Abstract

In this paper, shunted piezoelectric patches are applied to suppress multiple vibration peaks of a hull section caused by a shaker on the center of the closed bulkhead, which is considered as a vibration source caused by the propulsion shaft. Based on the principle of maximum strain, the positions of piezoelectric patches for different vibration frequencies are determined through modes of the hull section and strain gauges. Large inductance and negative capacitance are achieved by synthesized impedances based on operational amplifiers. Comparing the effect of the RL circuit and the RL-NC circuit, it is proved that parallel negative capacitance can significantly improve the control effect.
