Abstract

In this paper, the vibration control of the rotating sandwich cylindrical shell considering functionally graded core and functionally graded magneto-electro-elastic (FGMEE) layers is studied. The Hamilton principle, first-order shear deformation theory of shells, constitutive equation considering coupling effect between mechanical, electric, magnetic are considered to derive the equations of motion and distribution of electrical potential, magnetic potential of FGMEE sandwich cylindrical shell. This formulation considers the Coriolis and centrifugal forces and the initial hoop tension resulting from rotation. The differential quadrature method is used for solving the differential equation of motion and also for studying all the boundary conditions. The effects of various parameters such as power low index of core, inner and outer layers, electrical and magnetic control coefficients, different boundary conditions, angular velocity and geometrical coefficient considering the vibration control of sandwich cylindrical shell are also investigated.
