Abstract

This paper analysis vibrations effect on the vital organs of the car driver sitting in the front and a female pregnant subject sitting in the rear of the car with the onboard Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Nine degrees of freedom (DoF) full-car active suspension system, eleven degrees of freedom biodynamic models for each driver and pregnant subject and ABS model is taken into consideration in the analysis. Comfort evaluation is based on the criteria set by the International standard organization ISO 2631-1 of 1997 for whole body vibrations. Vertical vibrations are attenuated using adaptive modified Neuro Fuzzy Takagi-Sugeno-Kang (NFTSK) control method. Slip ratio is used for ABS analysis. Coordination of the ABS and suspension system is established. The NFTSK control performance is verified against the standard road profile. Comparison of the results is made with no control (passive) and PID and the indices defined by the international standard. This form of the coordinated analysis is rare in the existing literature.
