Abstract

The dynamic properties of a pre-stressed string-plate sensor are studied using the finite element method. The string-plate sensor is made of a thin circular plate, subjected to initial in-plane uniform tension and transverse static pressure, and a pre-stretched string. The geometrical nonlinearity of the plate is included in the analysis. Two-step analysis procedure is involved. A wide range of numerical results are presented. Influences of the geometrical parameters and initial static loads on the dynamic behavior of the string-plate sensor are discussed, which are very useful for design of this kind of sensor.
