Abstract

Travelling to Armenia also means a journey through the plurality of manifestations, articulations, divisions of that ancient country. The Venetian papers consulted help us to understand what the views of the Serenissima Republic were in those lands, and to understand how great the mobility of the Armenian commercial operators was. The sources consulted here focus on the XV-XVIII centuries, but the XIV century is not omitted. Nor are the potentials and missed opportunities lost with the falling apart of a cultural (not only commercial) relationship between Venice and the many Armenias.
