Abstract

Problem statement. The noise of radar local oscillator reference oscillation sources often prevails among the noise of the local oscillator signals. At long ranges, this leads to significant distortion of the results of processing weak reflected signals in radars. One of the ways to reduce the noise of the local oscillator signals is the use of VHF crystal oscillators with a low noise level. Goal. To obtain equations for the power spectral density of phase noise, as well as for random deviations of the oscillation phase of a model of a VHF crystal oscillator. Results. Equations for the power spectral density of phase noise, as well as for random deviations of the oscillation phase of a model of a VHF crystal oscillator are obtained. Practical significance. These theoretical and practical results obtained allow a more selective approach to the selection of parameters of high-frequency crystal oscillators for use as sources of local oscillator oscillations.
