Abstract

In human medicine, it is recognised that physiotherapy can speedup physical and psychological recovery rates. It comes as no surprise to learn that the concept of physiotherapy for animals, too, is gaining acceptance: this summer, the Royal Veterinary College awarded the UK's first Master's degrees in veterinary physiotherapy. Here, Kate Hulse, a human physiotherapist, explains why she undertook the course and how some basic physiotherapeutic principles might be applied to veterinary cases
