Abstract

A very low-emittance 1.3-GeV storage ring has been designed. Modified TBA lattice is used in order to achieve as low emittance as possible and the beam tracking is also carried out to find lattice parameters, which make the dynamic aperture as large as possible. High-emittance operation is also considered for obtaining large irradiation fields. Moreover, a high-gain single-pass FEL undulator which lases around 1000 Å is to be installed. For the biochemical and medical applications, a 5-T wiggler will be inserted in one of four of 6-m-long straight sections. The obtained emittance is ∼1.6×10−8 π mrad and the circumference of the storage ring is 126.0 m.
