Abstract

A transverse excitation multi-atmosphere CO 2 laser has been modified to enhance its performance and to prevent damage to its optical components. A systematic investigation has been carried out on this source to verify the effects of the solution and to compare them with theory and previous works. In particular, we have obtained larger fluences coupled with full tunability and narrow laser linewidth.
