Abstract

A novel CMOS low-voltage output stage is proposed which is based on a class AB common source configuration. It provides high drive capability while using output transistors with low aspect ratios. A 2 mA peak-to-peak output current is achieved with a 1.5 V power supply and a maximum aspect ratio of 375/2. The output stage includes a very simple current control which accurately sets the bias conditions.
