Abstract

Several prototypes of vertical transitions with the application of Shin-Etsu elastomeric connectors are designed and tested. The insertion loss of a holder with an elastomeric connector coupling two ground coplanar lines, spaced at distance 5 mm, is lower than 0.5 dB at lower frequencies only (below 2 GHz). A transition with properly separated elastomeric connectors is appropriate up to 4-5 GHz. And a hybrid transition consisting of a coaxial line terminated with an elastomeric connector can operate up-to Ku-band.
