Abstract

We design and verify the multi-LAN system component architecture based on software communications architecture (SCA), which is a standard framework of component software technology of the Software Defined Radio (SDR) Forum for vertical handover between Ethernet and WLAN through its prototype implementation, including a vertical handover application and a human computer interface (HCI) application. The vertical handover and HCI applications inherit from the SCA core framework (CF) and communicate with other applications over Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) object request broker (ORB). The vertical handover application automatically reconfigures the connection between Ethernet and wireless LAN. The paper shows class and sequence diagrams for vertical handover application development on the multi-LAN environment.
