Vertical farming offers a sustainable and efficient alternative by leveraging innovative technologies and controlled environments to grow crops in vertically stacked layers within urban settings. This article explores the concept of vertical farming, its advantages, and the challenges associated with its implementation. It delves into the various technologies and systems employed in vertical farms, including hydroponics, aeroponics, and aquaponics, and discusses their potential to optimize resource utilization and enhance crop yields.
