Abstract

AbstractFour-dimension trajectory prediction is a critical technology for Trajectory-based operations (TBO). Accurate and reliable trajectory prediction enables controllers to grasp the air traffic flow and airspace operating conditions in advance and is the basis for air traffic flow prediction. Although the generation and optimization of four-dimension trajectory are widely studied. There are few details on how to handle the altitude and speed restriction at the waypoint of the flight leg and how to calculate the proper Top of Descent. In order to solve these problems, a practical method to predict the entire trajectory is proposed. The altitude and speed restriction at the waypoint can be satisfied by adjusting the maneuvering mode during prediction. Also, an algorithm to calculate TOD by iteration is designed. Simulation results show that predicted trajectories of this method can meet the restriction at the waypoint and the vertical and lateral trajectories are coordinated by the calculated TOD.KeywordsFour-dimension trajectory predictionRestriction at waypointTop of Descent
