Vertex operators for twisted fields

Abstract

General vertex operators which describe the transition of conformal fields satisfying various twisted boundary conditions are constructed both in the oscillator form and in the bosonized form. Furthermore, we give an explicit formula which connects these two forms in a direct manner. As an application, physical amplitudes for a Z N -twisted string theory are computed and are shown to be dual.
