Abstract

For many years, value function representation for DM’s preference has been widely used in multi-attribute or multicriteria decision problems in choosing the preferred alternative or ranking a set of feasible alternatives. Among others, additive and monotonic value functions play an important role in applications. In fact, assuming implicitly the additive value function, many ranking procedures have been proposed (see, for instance, Ch.6 of Yu[10]).
