Abstract

A cylindrical impedance metasurface can be used to arbitrarily reshape the radiation pattern of a vertically polarized enclosed two-dimensional source. We verify this theory, developed in a previous work, by reporting waveguide transmission measurements of a cylindrical metasurface fabricated using printed circuit board techniques. The transmission measurement results are in good agreement with the desired azimuthal image pattern, verifying the use of a cylindrical impedance metasurface to produce a desired azimuthal radiation pattern.
