Abstract
Verification and validation are areas of great importance for Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) engineering. Several studies apply methods, techniques, standards and patterns of verification and validation to ensure the usability of interactive systems. In parallel, software process capability maturity (SPCM) models gained broad adoption in the industry. Considering this context, we conducted a study to identify approaches from HCI verification and validation to be used by professionals in the development of interactive systems while using these models. This study was based on a literature review and interviews with twenty experts in HCI, considering the most known SPCM model: CMMI-DEV (Capability Maturity Model Integration) for developers.
