Abstract

In this study we compared two small rivers (“Neetze” and “Dumme”) with differences in impact of land use practices in the district of Lüneburger Heide and Wendland in Lower Saxony, Germany. Investigated issues were the extent of disturbance in river morphology, biota (stoneflies, caddisflies, mayflies) and costs for river restauration measures at both sites.
