Abstract
The simplified arrangement for constancy checks of direct-radiography X-ray units comprises a dosemeter D1 integrated into a 25 mm Al absorber which is inserted into the filter fitting, and a second dosemeter D2 positioned in the cassette drawer of the Bucky table. The measured values of D1, D2 and the quotient D2/D1 yield defined information about kV, mAs and the equipment attenuation factor. The method is simple, independent from film and developer systems, and sensitive for variations in the setup. We recommend it for adoption into the standard DIN 6868.
