Abstract

There are three criteria (energy, peak current, and charge) for describing the electrical parameters used for ventricular defibrillation. In this investigation, which deals with defibrillation using single and multiple pulses of half-sinusoidal current, it was found that these three criteria are different. Although slightly less current was required with multiple current pulses, more energy and charge were employed. The least energy and charge were required with a single half-sinusoidal pulse of current.
