A Method for Quick and Accurate Differentiation," in the October issue (pp. 592-594). Although I agree with the authors in that the conventionally recommended methods of measuring simultaneous hematocrit values, inspecting for clot formation, or measuring the fluid pressure do not provide a quick and sensitive method of differentiation, their use of indocyanine green dye, an ear densitometer, and a strip chart recorder—a small cardiac catheterization laboratory—could hardly be called a simple bedside test.For the past 20 years I have always included...
