Abstract
This study examines the insertion of illegal Colombian immigrants in Venezuela. The geographic distribution of Colombians shows the majority of them to be located in frontier states. This is quite logical considering geographic and cultural proximity. At the time of the 1950 census, 77.5 out of every 100 Colombians living in Venezuela, were in the states of Tachira and Zulia; by the 1971 census, the percentage had decreased to 60 percent.
