Abstract

The Veneziano model for meson systems involving axial-vector, vector, pseudoscalar and scalar particles is investigated. Weinberg mass relations for the axial-vector mesons are derived. The connection between this model and the chiral symmetry is discussed. Some relations between the decay parameters of various mesons are derived. Using the field current identity for the hypercharge changing weak axial-vector current, we give complete expressions for the two of the form factors F 1 and F 2 in K l 4 in terms of the Veneziano amplitude for the process πK → πK A . It is shown that the constraints of the current algebra in the soft pion limit are satisfied by these expressions.
