Abstract

We show that in a medium with constant velocity-gradient it is possible to find both the two velocity parameters, and the locations of the reflector for each source-receiver pair from the reflection travel times. This algorithm is a basis for a velocity-less migration; it allows for using the obtained velocity parameters and reflection position for migrating the data. The presented method relies on obtaining the derivatives of the traveltimes with respect to the locations of the sources and receivers in the two horizontal directions.
