Abstract
With the increase in the traffic and vehicles on road, there is a need for smart and intelligent traffic monitoring system and surveillance. A smart and intelligent traffic monitoring and surveillance system is basic requirement for the development of smart cities in India. This can be achieved by the detection of moving vehicles along with the speed tracking for detection of speed limit violations. This research paper shows some effective approach for the vehicle detection and estimation of their speed with the help of machine learning concept.
