Abstract

AbstractThe solution of an integral equation using the method of moments leads to a system of linear equations. The resulting system of equations can be solved by direct and iterative methods. This paper introduces an iterative method utilizing Brezinski's θ algorithm. The algorithm has previously been used in accelerating the convergence of a scalar sequence. With the aid of two integral equations, it is shown that the algorithm is able to accelerate the convergence of a vector sequence resulting in the solution vector. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
