Abstract

The electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon are investigated by using the vector dominance model (VDM) and the formulas that are proposed by Gari and Kr\"umpelmann (GK) to synthesize the VDM and perturbative QCD. We simplify and generalize the formulas given by GK. The existing data of nucleon electromagnetic form factors are realized remarkably well. Although the incorporation of a QCD term improves the fit, the present experimental data on the form factors are not accurate enough to exclude a simple naive vector dominance model.
