Abstract

This paper proposes a vector control method for the synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) which selects appropriate stator d,q-axis current component combination (flux current, torque current) so that the influence of iron core loss on the developed torque can be minimized in torque control. A coupled finite element analysis and Preisach's modeling for SynRM is presented to verify the propriety of the proposed method and a characteristics analysis is performed under the effects of saturation and iron loss. Both computer simulation and experimental results show the propriety of the proposed method.
