Abstract
This paper is an effort to introduce two new and simple transformations for three-phase Induction Motor (IM) under open-phase fault (faulty IM) along with a correspondent Rotor Field-Oriented Control (RFOC) method. Fundamental knowledge in regard with new transformations based on faulty IM model is presented. The presented transformations are a new approach to tackle control design difficulties cause by asymmetrical structure of faulty IM. Ultimately, MATLAB/SIMULINK is used to verify performance of the proposed method for faulty IM. Simulation results reveal the great potential of the proposed method to reduce torque and speed pulsation.
