Abstract

Optical frequency combs (OFCs) have gained recognition in many scientific disciplines such as metrology or optical communications. OFCs based on vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) under Gain Switching (GS) regime offer suitable combs with competitive costs and record energy efficiency [1]. However, to widen its range of application, efforts are required to extend their optical span. We explore this idea considering two unique features these combs exhibit: the dual polarization nature of the OFC generated, and their singular behavior under polarization selective optical injection locking (OIL) [2]. Therefore, we study its dynamics under parallel, orthogonal and combined OIL when the injection ratio is varied.
