Abstract

Background: Adrenomedullin is a vasoreactive physiological peptide with vasodilative and immunomodulatory actions distributed in the vascular system in the animal brain. However, few previous studies have investigated the significance of mid-regional pro-adrenomedullin (MR-proADM) levels and ischemic cerebral deep white matter lesions (DWMLs) in association with cognitive decline in humans.
