Abstract

The successful management of right ventricular dysfunction is a complex process and relies for its success on the identification, diagnosis and treatment of the underlying pathophysiological process. Pulmonary hypertension remains an area of significant clinical concern and active research. New pharmacological and mechanical treatment modalities are focusing on the successful reduction of PVR (without systemic hypotension) with subsequent preservation of right ventricular function.
