Abstract
Introduction: Coronavirus disease 2019 has affected more than 130 million people since the outbreak. During the pandemic, the severe acute respiratory syndrome virus (SARS-CoV-2) was found to cause endothelial dysfunction of small blood vessels and can lead to late ocular complications such as acute occlusion of the central retinal artery and its branches, occlusion of the venous vessels of the retina, central serous retinopathy, papillophlebitis, anterior ischemic opticopathy, uveitis and neuroretinitis. The aim of the present study was to raise awareness of the risk of developing acute retinal vascular disease associated with COVID-19.
