Abstract
The Northwest of Murcia is one of the most important routes of union with the region of Andalusia cause of his location and his geography. The analysis of the natural, historic, traditional and cattle routes reveals the importance of the basin of the Quipar as route of communication along the centuries. The archaeological data reveal the important role of this route since prehistoric times and especially during the Iberian period as it is showed by the dispersion of the material and the settlements located in this area. After the apparent decline of this route during the Roman age, the documentary sources and the accounts of travellers reflect its renewed importance in medieval and modern times.
