Abstract

In this paper, we investigate coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations for the fiber couplers with asymmetric self-phase modulation and cross-phase modulation. A class of vector soliton solutions including bright-bright (BB), bright-dark (BD), dark-bright (DB) and breather-like (BL) solitons are generated by the developed Hirota bilinear method. Under certain conditions, the propagation and interactions of BB and BD (DB) solitons are presented. In addition, the effect of the corresponding parameters on the dynamic properties of the BL soliton is also analyzed. The results of this paper are useful for improving soliton theory and studying asymmetric fiber couplers.
