Abstract

This article deals with the characteristics of young people’s language as a discourse community on online social networks (Facebook). The analysis focuses on the presence of elements of internet slang and dialect and regional colloquial linguistic elements in young people’s language on online social networks. In addition, it examines the influence of English on young people’s language and its presence in their slang. The hypotheses are supported with examples and the results of a survey.
