Abstract
Methods of solving many well-known problems in elasticity by means of passive resistance networks are reviewed, and the difficulties encountered when the governing partial differential equation is of the hyperbolic type are discussed. The use of a new and very simple negative resistance, which has been incorporated into the pure resistance networks, is described and the results of several representative experiments are given.
