Abstract
In digital era, Inpainting has wide scope in terms of video restoration. It is also known as video completion where the missing or lost region is filled with its surrounding region restored by applying some sophisticated inpainting algorithms. Inpainting can be done for many applications such as film and entertainment production, removing scratches or dust, creating video synopsis etc. Removal of object from image or video is one of the applications which can be possible by image inpainting or video inpainting techniques. Video inpainting is extension of Image Inpainting. This paper describes the overview of video inpainting for object removal. Also this paper shows dataset, methods used by various authors for video inpainting with its advantages and limitations.
