Abstract
A first study of the relative valves of the sea level in Provence over the last 5000 years, is based on the archeological facts and on new isotopic dates. On the eastern extremity of the Rhône Delta, the endogenous deformations (tectonic, tassements) play an important rôle. But the comparaison with the most stable sites of the War's seaboard shows equally the probable intervention of eustatic variations (protohistoric and antic regression ?). The study of a semi closed inlandsea (Etang de Berre) helps us to understand the history of the local climate.
