Abstract
This article considers what it actually means to return words to flesh, that is it deals with the words themselves. The author asks what it will be like when we re-enflesh words and therefore whole cognitive systems that are at present without substance. The article reflects on the part that language plays in the work of Goldenberg and argues that words themselves carry a secular dualism that interrupts the process that Goldenberg strives for. Language itself has to be examined if the rupture between dehumanised knowledge and carnal flesh is to be healed.
