Abstract

Comparative analysis of the structural organization and functioning of phytoperiphyton in rivers flowing over the territory of the Karelian Republic and subject to anthropogenic load resulting from urbanization is presented. The effect of changes in the hydrological and hydrochemical regimes on the species composition and biomass of periphytic algae is discussed. The possibility of using phytoperiphyton as an indicator of the ecological state of small river ecosystems is analyzed.
