Abstract

The nonlinear Schrodinger equation with periodically varying nonlinearity coefficient thatdescribes matter-wave soliton in in Bose-Einstein Condensation (BEC) and optical solitons isconsidered analytically. Variational approach is applied on the derived averaged equationwhich describes nonlinearity-managed solitons. A good agreement between analytical solutions obtained by means of variational analysis and numerical solutions of derived averagedequation is demonstrated.
