Abstract
In this study, radon gas and radium activity concentrations in the geothermal waters in the Omer-Gecek region of Afyonkarahisar province were measured for a period of 9 months. During this period, the measured radon activity concentration value of Omer region source ranged between 8.997 and 0.076 Bq/L with the average radon activity concentration of 2.714 Bq/L. The radium activity concentration ranged from 0.028 to 0.552 Bq/L with the average radium activity concentration found to be 0.239 Bq/L. The Gecek region radon activity concentration ranged from 0.081 to 3.685 Bq/L with the radium activity concentration of 0.026 to 0.443 Bq/L. The measurement results were compared with the relevant international standards and found that no source exceeds the determined limit values.
