Abstract

Objective To observe the changes on expression of multidrug resistance gene(MDR1), breast cancer resistance protein(BCRP) before and neoadjuvant chemotherapy, and to analyze the relationship of ER, PR, HER2. Methods A total of 25 patients with breast cancer were selected, and were treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy. After 3 periods TAC/TEC of neoadjuvant chemotherapy, the expression levels of MDR1, BCRP mRNA were detected adopting RT-PCR method. Results The positive expression rate of MDR1, BCRP mRNA was 44%, 36% in patients with breast cancer after 3 periods TAC/TEC of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The expression of MDR1 mRNA, BCRP mRNA had completely positive correlation with HER2(P 0.05). In addition, there was no correlation of MDR1 wih BCRP. Conclusions MDR1, BCRP are co-expressed in breast cancer, and have a completely positive correlation with HER2. Detecting the expressins of MDR1, BCRP genes can help tetermine the prognosis of breast cancer in clinic. Key words: Breast cancer; Multidrug resistance gene; Breast cancer resistance protein; Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reation
